Preliminary Magazine Task

This is my As media starter coursework task, I was asked to design and create on photoshop a school magazine for Haydon. I choose for my target audience to be sixth formers as they are many articles that I could included in my magazine that sixth formers would be interested in such as information on universities, part time jobs and revision tips. I have included a basic layout on my magazine which makes it easy for people read and see the important information. I have included all of the key elements that are within a magazine front front cover such as the main picture, a big and bold title and sell lines. I have done the same for the content page, I have included all the key information that are needed for a content page and included a small image at the bottom. There are two images that I have used for my magazine and both I took with the school camera and removed the background on photoshop by using the lasso tool and the rectangual  marquee tool. Then I added them both to my magazine. For each detail of my magazine I have to create a new layer on photo shop which makes it easier to work with as everything as an individual layer. One thing that I found difficult when doing this task was how to work photoshop as I have never used it before. But I went on to fronter and watched the photoshop tutorial in the multimedia skills bank, I found this very useful and it showed an basic way of how to use photoshop. I chose to use two colours in my magazine and they are blue and purple, I used these colours as they are bold, stand out and work really well together.
